Hi, I’m Sinead
I'm the founder of MALA & CO.
My career has always centred around children and families. I've worked across education, early childhood, content development and child safety, and today I also present with Grooming Recognition, helping educate communities about child grooming and the importance of prevention through awareness.
But my greatest influence has never been my career.
It's been becoming a mum.
Motherhood has changed the way I see the world. It has made me think differently about the products we buy, the messages our children hear every day and the small moments that quietly shape who they become.
I don't believe products need to be just products.
I believe they can encourage conversations.
They can build confidence.
They can remind children that their voice matters.
And they can help parents weave important lessons into everyday life.
That's what inspired me to create MALA & CO, a brand built with purpose, where every collection is designed to support confident, connected childhoods.

Children deserve to grow up feeling safe, confident and free to simply be children.
The statistics are confronting. Research shows that 1 in 7 Australians experienced physical or sexual abuse during childhood, and more than 1 in 5 experienced childhood abuse and/or witnessed parental violence before the age of 15.
These numbers remind us why awareness and education matter.
One of the strongest protective factors we can give children is knowledge, teaching them about body safety, trusted relationships, healthy boundaries and the confidence to speak up when something doesn't feel right.
At MALA & CO, we believe those conversations don't have to begin in a classroom. They can begin while getting dressed for school, packing a lunchbox or heading to the beach.
That's why you'll find messages like "I Don't Keep Secrets," "Safe. Seen. Heard." and "Loved Loudly." throughout our collections, not because a T-shirt can keep a child safe, but because it can encourage conversations, reinforce positive messages and remind children that they always have a trusted adult who will listen.
Our modest swimwear was created from the same philosophy.
We believe children deserve swimwear that allows them to move freely, play confidently and simply enjoy being children. Thoughtful coverage, quality fabrics and timeless designs aren't about limiting childhood, they're about celebrating it.

Our logo features a mother jaguar.
Across many cultures, the jaguar represents courage, instinct, wisdom and fearless protection. She walks quietly but confidently, moving with purpose rather than force. She fiercely protects her young, is protector of plant medicines and the natural world. The jaguar has no natural predators, a symbol of strength without aggression.
